84 the said Eleanora M Goldsborough her heirs Executors administrators and assigns one negro man George about Eighteen years of age also negro woman Peggy about forty five & negro Eliza about Twenty two years of age To have and To hold the afforesaid Negroes George Peggy & Eliza unto the said Eleanora M Goldsborough her heirs executors and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said Eleanora M Goldsborough her heirs executors & administrators forever and I the said Howes Goldsborough for my heirs executors and administrators the said bargained negroes George Peggy & Eliza unto the said Eleanora M Goldsborough her heirs Executors & assigns against all persons shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents Howes Goldsborough (seal) Now The Conditions of the above instruments of writing is this that if the said Howes Goldsborough shall well and truly pay a note of hand passed to said Eleanora M Goldsborough for Seven hundred and fifty dollars togeather with interest and Cost dated the fourth day of September Eighteen hundred and thirty Eight also a note of hand passed to her sister Sarah E Goldsborough for one hundred and ten Dollars with Interest and Cost dated April Second Eighteen hundred and thirty three the above instrument will be null and void otherwise to be in full force and virtue of law Howes Goldsborough (seal) At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit On this 13th February 1840 personally appeared before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace of the City of Baltimore Howes Goldsborough and acknowledged the above Signature to the present Instrument his act and deed to the true intent and meaning thereof Saml Purviance State of Maryland Baltimore County Sc I hereby Certify that Samuel Purviance Gentleman before whom the aforegoing acknowledgment was made & who has thereto signed his name was at the time of so doing a Justice of the peace of the state of maryland in & for the City of Baltimore duly Commissioned & Sworn In Testimony whereof I hereto set (Seal) my hand and affix the seal of Baltimore County Court Exd d d this 14th day of February 1840 chd Thos Kell Clk $.73 6 Recorded the 17th day of February 1840 Whereas by Indenture bearing date on or about the tenth day of November Eighteen hundred and twenty one made between Jesse Leatherwood |
