and administrators shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents to the said James Booth Sr my father his Executors administrators and assigns the said described property against me my Executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the 20th day of January 1840 Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of James Booth Jun.r (seal) Lewis Sutton S.r Ben Alnutt At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland Anne Arundel County to wit On this 20th day of January 1840 Before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for the state and County aforesaid appeared James Booth J.r and acknowledged the foregoing Instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true Intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such a case made and provided Taken and acknowledged before Lewis Sutton Sen.r paid 3½ Recorded the 21.st day of January 1840 Know all men by these presents that we Benjamin Richardson and Sophia Richardson of Anne Arundel County and state of maryland hath in consideration of the sum of Four hundred Dollars to them in hand paid by Richard Green of Harford County and state aforesaid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged granted bargained and sold unto the said Richard the following goods and chattels to wit one Horse one Cow one yearling Cow a one horse waggon four beds and bedding two mahogany tables one black walnut Bureau four bed steads one dozen Chairs and all the farming utensils now in possession of said Benjamin and Sophia Richardson and we do hereby fully convey and assign the same to the said Richard Green Provided always that if the said Benjamin and Sophia shall on or before the first day of January Eighteen hundred and forty two cause to be paid or pay to the said Richard the sum of Four hundred dollars with Interest from the fifth day of October Eighteen hundred and thirty two then these presents to be null and void otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue in law In testimony whereof the said Benjamin Richardson and Sophia hath hereto set their hands and seals this twenty first day of January Eighteen hundred and forty Test Nathan Shipley Benjamin Richardson (seal) Alfred Warfield Sophia Richardson (seal) |
