that is to say from the date hereof until the said first day of January Eighteen
hundred and fifty two  To have and to hold all the right and interest
of him the said Job Guest in and to the said negro boy named Isaiah
for and during the aforesaid term of servitude so by him reserved and
hereby bargained and sold to the said John S Selby his Executors
administrators and assigns  In Witness whereof the said Job Guest
and the said John S Selby have hereunto subscribed their names
and affixed their seals this 15th day of January in the year of our Lord
Eighteen hundred and forty

                   At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

State of maryland Anne arundel County to wit  On this 15th day of
January 1840 Before the Subscriber a Justice of the peace for the County and
State aforesaid personally appeared Job Guest and John S Selby also of the
County and state aforesaid and executed and acknowledged the aforegoing
Bill of sale or instrument of writing to be their respective act and deed for the
purposes therein mentioned according to the true intent and meaning
thereof and the act of assembly in such case made and provided

    State of maryland Ann Arundel County to wit  Know all men by these
presents that I James Boothe J.r of the and State as aforesaid & Calvert
Cl for and in Consideration of the sum of sixty dollars Current money to me in
hand paid by James Boothe S.r of the Cl of Anne Arundel & state aforesd
at and before the sealing and delivery hereof the Receipt whereof I do
hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these
presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said James Booth S.r my
father His Executors administrators and assigns one Bay horse six
or seven years old which I bought of James Woods of Calvert County
at six months for the aforesaid sum of sixty Dollars and for the payment
of which sum my father James Booth J.r is bound as security on my
Bond to said Jo.s Wood  To have and To hold the same described
property above bargained and sold to the said James Booth S.r his
Executors administrators and assigns forever to his and their only proper
use and benefit and I the said James Booth J.r for myself my Executors
