53 George W Wilson for myself my heirs Executors and administrators shall and will warrant and defend during the aforementioned term respectively the said negro Boys Joe and John by these presents to the said William B Chairs his heirs and Assigns for and during said term against me and my heirs and against all persons Whomsoever Claiming or to claim any right title or interest in and to them or either of them In Witness whereof the said George W Wilson and William B Chairs have hereunto respectively subscribed their named and affixed their several seals the 20th day of August in the year one thousand Eight hundred and thirty nine George W Wilson (seal) Witness Mareen M Duvall William B Chairs (seal) At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit On this 20th day of August in the year one thousand Eight hundred and thirty nine before the Subscribers Justices of the peace for the state in the County aforesaid personally appeared George W Wilson and William B Chairs who are personally known to us to be the parties named in the foregoing instrument of writing and respectively acknowledged the same to be their act and deed Exd d d Mareen M Duvall chd .63 5 Recorded the 7th day of September 1839 This Indenture made this thirteenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty nine between Richard M Chase of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland of the one part and James Iglehart of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Whereas the said Richard M Chase owes and stands justly indebted to the said James Iglehart in the full and just Sum of Five hundred dollars Current money and for the purpose of securing the payment of the said sum of money to the said James Iglehart whenever the same may be required the said Richard M Chase is willing and hath agreed to Execute these presents Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Richard M Chase for and in Consideration of the above recited premises and of the sum of five dollars Current money to him in hand paid by the said James Iglehart the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained sold and mortgaged And by these presents doth give grant bargain sell and mortgage unto the said James Iglehart his Executors administrators and assigns forever the following property now in his possession to wit one negro man named Sam Blackstone aged about twenty one years one negro woman named Delia Blackstone aged about thirty nine years one negro girl named Charlotte Blackstone aged about (fifteen) |
