39 mentioned and I do Certify that the said Mildred Robinson is the Identical person Signing the said Instrument of writing chd Taken before and Certified by Wm Bryan (seal) $.43 Exd d d 3 Recorded the 31.st day of May 1839 Know all Men by these presents that I Anne Tongue of Anne Arundel and state of maryland for and in consideration of three hundred dollars Current money to me in hand paid by Benjamin Tongue of the County and state aforesaid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained sold and delivered and by these presents do grant bargain sell and deliver unto the said Benjamin Tongue my negro man Charles to have and to hold the said bargained man unto the said Benjamin Tongue And I the said Anne Tongue for myself heirs Executors and administrators shall and will warrant and defend against all persons whomsoever in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this sixteenth day of may in the year one thousand Eight hundred and thirty nine Anna Tongue Test Alexander Franklin On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County On this twenty seventh day of may 1839 personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for the aforesaid County Anne Tongue and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be her act and deed accordin to the true intent and meaning thereof Acknowledged before Joseph Norris chd 57 Recorded the 4th day of June 1839 This Indenture made this Fifth day of June in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and Thirty nine between Charles Willigman Junr of the City of Annapolis and State of Maryland of the one part and John Lamb of the City and County aforesaid of the other part whereas the said Cha.s Willigman Jun.r owes and stands Justly indebted to the said John Lamb in the sum of one hundred and sixty three dollars Current money and to secure the payment thereof is willing to Execute these presents Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Cha.s Willigman Jun.r for and in consideration of the goods and chattels and of the sum of one hundred and sixty three Dollars Current money to him in hand paid by the said John Lamb at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said John Lamb his Executors administrators (and) |
