                   At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit  On this twenty seventh
day of april in the year Eighteen hundred and thirty nine Michael Dorsey
personally appeared before me a Justice of the peace in and for the state and
County aforesaid and acknowledged the above instrument to be his act
and deed  In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand

Know all men by these that I Mildred Robinson of Anne Arundel
County and State of Maryland for the Consideration of the sum of Three
hundred and Fifty Dollars Current money to me in hand paid by John
Maynard of the County and State aforesaid the receipt whereof I do hereby
acknowledge have granted bargained sold and delivered and by these
presents do grant bargain sell and deliver unto the said John Maynard
my negro Slave Maria Maynard which said slave Maria Maynard
I will warrant and defend to the said John Maynard his Executors
administrators and assigns against me my Executors and administrators
and against every other person or persons whomsoever  In Witness whereof
I have hereunto set my name and affixed my seal this 17.th seventeenth
day of may in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and
thirty Eight

      Wm Bryan   Eliza J Shaw

                      At the foot of the aforegoing is as thus written to wit

Maryland Sc  Be it remembered that on this seventeenth day of May
Eighteen hundred and thirty nine before me the subscriber a Justice
of the peace in and for Anne Arundel County and State aforesaid
personally appears Mildred Robinson and acknowledged the foregoing
Instrument of writing to be her act and deed for the purposes therein
