administrators and assigns the following property Viz One dark bay mare one
pale red Cow and one wheel barrow  To have and To hold the said property
so as aforesaid described to the said Frances N Whittington her Executors
administrators and assigns forever and I the said Joseph McKenney for myself
for my heirs Executors and administrators the aforesaid property described as
above to the said Frances N Whittington her Executors & administrators and against
all and every person and persons whomsoever shall and will warrant and for
ever defend by these presents  Provided nevertheless that in case I the said Joseph
McKenney shall pay and satisfy to the said Frances N Whittington her Executors
administrators or assigns the sum of Eighty Six dollars and thirty six Cents
Current money with interest due thereon on or before the first day of January
1846 ensuing then this bill of sale and every matter and thing therein expressed
shall be void and of none effect it being the true intent and meaning thereof that
the said property is mortgaged by me Joseph McKenney to the said Frances N
Whittington for the payment of the money as aforesaid as a Collateral security
on the same  In Witness whereof I the said Joseph McKenney have hereunto
set my hand affixed my seal the nineteenth day of July one thousand Eight
hundred and forty four                                 Joseph McKenney   (seal)
Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of
       Lewis Sutton Sr    W F Leitch

          At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

    State of maryland Anne Arundle County to wit  On this the 19 day of July
in the year of our Lord Came before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the
peace in and for the State and County aforesaid Joseph McKenney and
acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed and the
property therein named Frances N Whittington upon the provision therein
contained according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the Acts of
Assembly in such cases as made and provided  As Witness my hand and seal
this the 19 day of July 1844

          Know all men by these presents that I Thornton F Robinson of Anne
Arundel County and State of maryland for and in consideration of the sum of
Sixty Six dollars and fifty Cents with Interest for the same from the 19 day of
February Eighteen hundred and forty four Current money to me in hand paid by
Joseph G Harrison of the County and State aforesaid at or before the sealing
and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Robinson do hereby
