319 be so unto him the said Thomas Brown as aforesaid In Witness whereof we the said Elijah R Arnold and Thomas Brown do hereunto set our hands and seals this fifteenth day of march in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty four Elijah R Arnold (seal) his Thomas + Brown (seal) mark On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit: State of maryland Anne Arundel County to wit: Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that on this fifteenth day of march in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty four before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of maryland in and for Anne Arundel County personally appear Elijah R Arnold and Thomas Brown they being known to me to be the persons who are named and described as and professing to be the parties to the foregoing bill of sale and do acknowledge the said bill of sale or instrument of writing to be their act and deed In Testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name on the day and year aforesaid Zachariah Merriken Exd d d chd 15 4¾ Recorded the 20 day of march 1844 This Indenture made this twenty fifth day of march in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty four Between William S Green of the one part and The State of maryland of the other part Whereas the said William S Green owes and stands justly indebted to the said State of maryland in a large sum of money on Sundry Judgments rendered in Anne Arundel County Court that is to say on a Judgment rendered at October Term 1836 one other Judgment rendered at April Term 1837 one other Judgment rendered at April Term 1839 one other Judgment rendered at October Term 1840 and one other Judgment rendered at April Term 1842 and to secure the payment thereof to the said State of maryland in such order and on such Judgment or Judgments as the certain and lawful Attorney of the said State may direct and appoint and with legal interest on the said several Judgments as the same have or may accrue Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said William S Green for and in consideration of the above recited premises for and in consideration of the sum of five dollars Current money to him in hand paid by the State of maryland at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said William S Green doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and therefrom doth acquit release Exonerate and for ever discharge the said State of maryland by these presents hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said State of Maryland all and singular the goods and chattels hereinafter particularly mentioned and expressed that is to say all my silver plate and household and kitchen furniture now being in and about my dwelling (house) |
