the County aforesaid and acknowledges the above deed or instrument of writing
to be his act and deed according to the purport true intent and meaning of
the said deed or instrument of writing and the Acts of Assembly in such
case made and provided
    Acknowledged before and Certified by         Saml H Hamilton

paid      Recorded the 4 day of March 1844


          Know all men by these presents that I Mary Anne Craggs of Anne
Craggs of Anne Arundel County and State of maryland for and in consideration
of the sum of one thousand and forty five dollars lawful money of the United
States in hand paid by Elizabeth McIlhenny of Anne Arundel County at or
before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do
grant bargain and sell unto the said Elizabeth McIlhenny her Executors
administrators and assigns the following negroes to serve untill they arrive
at Twenty five years of age Vizt Lucretia daughter of Ellen born 22d July
Eighteen hundred & thirty four Charles son of Ellen born the 25 of June Eighteen
hundred & thirty, Isaac son of Ellen born 6 February Eighteen hundred and
thirty six Hannah daughter of Mary born 21st May Eighteen hundred & twenty
seven, Charlotte daughter of Mary born 25 August Eighteen hundred & thirty
one, Caroline daughter of Mary born 7th August Eighteen hundred & thirty four
To have and To hold the said described slaves for the above terms of years
to the said Elizabeth McIlhenny her Executors administrators and assigns
for the terms of years above mentioned and I the said Mary Anne Craggs
for myself my heirs Executors and administrators the said slaves for the
above terms of years unto the said Elizabeth McIlhenny her Executors administrators
and assigns against me the said Mary Anne Craggs my Executors
and administrators and against all and every other person or persons
whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifteenth
day of January Eighteen hundred and forty fore
Signed Sealed and delivered in the                Mary A Craggs   (seal)
presence of      Abner Linthicum

           At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

          Be it remembered That on this fifteenth day of January 1844 before the
subscriber a Justice of the peace for said County appears Mary A Craggs
and acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be her act and deed
according to the true intent and meaning thereof acknowledged before
paid                                                                               Abner Linthicum
