303 acknowledged the same to be his act & deed for the purposes therein declared according to the purport true intent and meaning thereof Acknowledged before J W Hunter Recorded the 12 day of December 1843 This Indenture made this twenty Eighth day of October in the year Eighteen hundred and forty three Between Frances X Hall now in Anne Arundel County Maryland but resident of the City of Washington in the district of Columbia of the one part and Richard R Darnall of the first aforesaid County and State of the other part Witnesseth that the said Francis for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said Richard R Darnall the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Richard B Darnall one negro boy named Benjamin about twenty two years old the slave for life of the said Francis To have and To hold the said negro slave in trust nevertheless to and for the use of the said Francis for and during his natural life and after the death of the said Francis to his the said Richard B Darnalls only proper use and behoof for ever In Testimony whereof the said Francis X Hall hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first herein written Signed Sealed and delivered in presence Francis X Hall (seal) of Chas Hodges At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written State of maryland Anne Arundel County sc Be it remembered That on this twenty Eighth day of October in the year Eighteen hundred and forty three before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the said State of maryland in and for the County aforesaid personally appears Francis X Hall the grantor within named and acknowledges the within deed or instrument of writing to be his act and deed and the negro slave therein mentioned to be the property and Estate of Richard B Darnall the grantee also therein named according to the true intent and mening thereof chd Acknowledged before me Certified by Cha.s Hodges 52 3½ Recorded the 18 day of December 1843 This Indenture made this twenty second day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty three Between William Murdock of Anne Arundel County in the state of maryland of the one part and Basil Shephard and Gilbert Murdock of the same County and State aforesaid of the other part Whereas the said Gilbert Murdock and Basil Shephard are endorsers upon a note of the said William Murdock for |
