29 Chaney his Executors administrators or assigns shall on or before the first day of August in the year Eighteen hundred and forty one pay or cause to be paid to the said James Chaney his Executors administrators or assigns the aforesaid sum of one thousand dollars Current money with Interest thereon from the date of these presents then this Indenture and every thing therein Contained shall cease and be utterly void to all intents and purposes anything therein contained to the Contrary thereof in any wise notwithstanding In Witness whereof the said Joseph Chaney hath hereunto subscribed his name and affixed and name and affixed his seal the day and year first herein before written his Signed Sealed and delivered in Joseph x Chaney (seal) presence of Joseph Sands mark At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Anne Arundel County to wit On this 21 day of March 1839 personally appears Joseph Chaney of Anne Arundel County party grantor mentioned in the aforegoing deed or Instrument of writing before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for the County aforesaid and acknowledges the said deed to be his act and deed according to the purport true intent and meaning thereof and of the acts of assembly in such Case made and provided Exd d d Acknowledged before & Certified by Joseph Sands paid .69 5½ Recorded the 26th day of March 1839 State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit Be it known by these presents that in Consideration of the sum of Two hundred and fifty dollars to me in hand paid by Henry Lecompte Lusby the receipt whereof I hereby acknowledge I Benjamin W Lusby have granted bargained sold assigned and released and by these presents do grant bargain sell assign and release to the said Henry Lecompte Lusby all my right claim and title to a certain negro woman named Mary Ann the said Mary Ann being one of the increase of negro Sarah deeded to the said Henry Lecompte Lusby by Robert Lusby on the fourteenth day of April one thousand seven hundred and ninety five as by the records of Anne Arundel County will appear To have and To hold the said negro woman named Mary Ann to him said Henry Lecompte Lusby and to his assigns Executors and administrators forever In Witness whereof I have hereunto signed my name and affixed my seal this in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty nine Signed Sealed and delivered in presents of Benjamin W Lusby (seal) John M Gaither On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit Be it remembered this 2nd (day) |
