William Sewell administrator as aforesaid and his assigns to the only proper
use and behoof of the said William Sewell administrator as aforesaid and his
assigns forever  Provided always and these presents are upon this Condition
that if the said John Miller his Executors & administrators shall and do well
and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said William Sewell administrator as
aforesaid or his assigns the full sum of one thousand one hundred & Eighty
dollars Current money with legal interest for the same on or before the first day of
October in the year Eighteen hundred and forty seven then and in such case these
presents and every matter and thing herein Contained shall cease determine and be
utterly void to all intents and purposes any thing herein Contained to the Contrary
thereof in any wise notwithstanding  In Witness whereof the said John Miller
hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written

                At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

    State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit  On this 19 day of September
in the year 1843 personally appeared John Miller before me the Subscriber
a Justice of the peace in and for the County and State aforesaid and
acknowledged the foregoing deed or instrument of writing to be his act and
deed for the purposes therein mentioned according to the purport true intent
and meaning thereof and the Acts of Assembly in such cases made and

       Know all men by these presents that I Dennis H Battee of Anne
Arundel County for the purpose of securing unto Richard H Battee and William
L Lowe Merchants trading in the City of Baltimore under the style and firm
of Battee and Lowe and unto Charity C Gosnell of Anne Arundel County
payment of certain sums of money now due and owing from me to the said
Battee & Lowe and to the said Charity C Gosnell and in consideration of
the sum of one dollar Current money to me in hand paid by the said Battee
& Lowe at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents and the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold assigned transferred
and set over and by these presents do bargain and sell assign
transfer and set over unto the said Batte & Lowe their Executors administrators
and assigns all my Crops of Tobacco wheat Corn and other grains now
growing or being on my farm in Anne Arundel County whereof I now reside
To have and To hold the aforesaid Crops unto and to the use of the said Battee &
