277 and year aforesaid J W Hunter I hereby agree to hire the within named property to the said Tucker for the sum of four dollars pr month which he agrees to pay J F Wilson Sep.r 25 1843 paid ½ Recorded the 18th day of September 1843 Know all men by these presents that I Richard C Hardesty of Anne Arundel County in the State of maryland being justly indebted unto one Thomas I Hardesty of the same County and State aforesaid in the full and just sum of Two thousand dollars lawful money of the United States and to secure the payment thereof to the said Thomas I Hardesty his Executors administrators and assigns in such manner and at such times as he and they may require hath agreed to Execute these presents Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Richard C Hardesty for and in consideration of the premises and for and in consideration of the further sum of five dollars lawful money to him in hand paid by the said Thomas I Hardesty at or before the sealing and delivery of tease presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Thomas I Hardesty his heirs Executors administrators and assigns the following personal property to wit one negro man named Benjamin aged about forty years one negro woman named Rebecca aged about thirty Eight years one negro woman named Mitty aged about twenty years one negro woman named Emily aged about Eight years One Negro Girl named Charlotte aged about thirteen years one ditto named June aged about Eight years one ditto named Rose aged about four years one ditto named Eliza aged about three years and one ditto named Sarah aged one year; one negro boy named Edward aged five years one ditto named Charles aged about one year one Roane horse one sorrel mare one sorrel Pony called Silver one sorrell horse called Jim one bay horse one sorrel Colt five head of Sheep one yoke of oxen five milch Cows three heiffers one bull four Calves two sows and thirteen pigs ten Shoats all my Crop corn tobacco wheat and Oats both standing in the field and secured in the house together with all my household and kitchen furniture and all my farming utensils of every description whatsoever To have and To hold the same unto the said Thomas I Hardesty his heirs Executors administrators and assigns to his and their only proper use and behoof and to and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever In Testimony whereof I the said Richard C Hardesty hath hereunto set my hand and seal this fifth day of September in the year Eighteen hundred and forty three Signed Sealed and delivered in the R C Hardesty (seal) presence of J W Hunter |
