or any portion thereof of the aforesaid amount at thirty Cents per Cord the said
E T Ellicott & C.o their Executors administrators and assigns to have the right and
privilege of coaling such wood on said premises and using the necessary materials
necessary for coaling the same  To have and To hold the said described wood
together with the rights and privileges aforesaid to the said Evan T Ellicott & Co
their Executors administrators and assigns  To the true and faithful
performance of the several Covenants and agreements aforesaid the parties
aforesaid do hereby respectively bind themselves and their respective heirs Executors
and administrators each to the other his her or their Executors and administrators
in the sum of sixteen hundred dollars  In Testimony whereof they have hereunto
set their hands and affixed their seals this fourth day of September Eighteen
hundred and forty three

          At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

    State of maryland City of Baltimore to wit:  On this 4th September 1843 before
me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for for said City came
Juliann Hammond and Elias Ellicott and severally acknowledges the above

          Know all men by these presents that I John Ridout of the City
of Annapolis administrator of Sarah Ann Terry deceased for and in
consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to me in hand
paid by Thomas T Terry of the City aforesaid the receipt whereof I do
hereby acknowledge have granted bargained sold and delivered and by
these presents do grant bargain sell and deliver unto the said Thomas
T Terry the Negro boy named Washington now eleven years of age
which said Negro boy Washington belonged to the aforesaid Sarah Ann
Terry being a servant for a term of years which said Negro boy Washington
I will warrant and defend to the said Thomas T Terry his Executors
administrators and assigns to serve him the said Thomas T Terry until
the nineteenth day of November one thousand Eight hundred and sixty
when his term of servitude will expire against all persons whomsoever  In
Witness whereof I have hereunto set my name and affixed my seal this seventh
day of September one thousand Eight hundred and forty three
