274 by Benjamin Worthington a free man of Collour of the County and State aforesaid has granted bargined and sold by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Benjamin Worthington a Negro boy named Elias and aged about three years To have and To hold the aforesaid boy so described as aforesaid to him the said Benjamin Worthington Executors administrators and assigns against me my Executors administrators and assigns for ever In Witness whareof I the said Vachel Sewer have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifteenth day of August Eighteen hundred and forty three Signed Sealed and delivered in the Vachel Sewer (seal) presents J W Hunter At the foot of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Maryland Ss Be it remembered That on this fifteenth day of August Eighteen hundred and forty three personally appeared before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the County and State aforesaid the above named Vachel Sewer and acknowledged the foregoing instrument of writing to his be his act and deed for the day and year first above mentioned Acknowledged ^before^ J W Hunter paid Exd d d 46 2¾ Recorded the 28 day of August 1843 Know all men by these presents that I Juliana Hammond widow of Anne Arundel County and State of maryland for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars money of the United States in hand paid by Evan T Ellicott, Andrew Ellicott & Elias Ellicott trading under the firm of E T Ellicott & Co of the City of Baltimore and State aforesaid and the further Consideration of having received from the said E T Ellicott & Co their three certain promissory notes each bearing dates with the day of the date hereof one of said Notes payable thirty days after date for fifty dollars one other of said Notes payable six months after date for two hundred and fifty dollars and one other of said notes payable twelve months after date for two hundred and fifty dollars at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Evan T Ellicott & Co their Executors administrators and assigns Two thousand Cords of oak wood standing on Hammonds six connexions in Anne Arundel County State aforesaid at forty Cents per Cord the same to be cut clean (except the Chesnut which is to be left standing) with the right to cut and remove the same or should the said E T Ellicott & Co deem it to their advantage they are at liberty to take pine wood if standing on said land (or) |
