266 of sixteen years being from the date of these presents the same being the term for which the said Thomas was to serve the said John W Williams at the expiration of said term the said Negro boy Horrace to be released from Slavery liberated and set free as provided by the last will and testament of Edward Williams deceased To have and To hold the said Negro boy Horrace as above bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to be for the aforesaid term to the said Thomas J Mezick his Executors administrators and assigns and I the said John W Williams for myself my heirs Executors and administrators the said Negro boy Horrace for the term above mentioned unto the said Thomas J Mezick his Executors administrators and assigns against me the said John W Williams my Executors and administrators and assigns and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents In Witness whereof wee set our hands and seals this fifth day of July Eighteen hundred and forty three Signed Sealed & delivered in John S Selby Guard of J W Williams (seal) the presence of Jno W Williams (seal) Wm Glover Thomas S Mezick (seal) At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified the on this fifth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty three the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of maryland in and for Anne Arundel County aforesaid personally appeared John S Selby Gardeen for John W Williams and John W Williams for himself and Thomas J Mezick they being known to me to be the parties to the foregoing deed or indenture and doth acknowledge the said Indenture or instrument of wrighting to be their act and deed In Testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name on the year aforesaid Exd d d Wm Glover chd 60 4¼ Recorded the 25th day of July 1843 Know all men by these presents that I William H Journey of Anne Arundel County in the State of maryland for and in consideration of the sum of seventy dollars Current money to me in hand paid by Thomas D Lee of Anne Arundel County and State aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I the said William Journey do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain ^and sell unto the said Thomas D Lee^ his Executors administrators or assigns all my household furniture to wit two beds bedsteads to tables one bureau one desk one writing desk twelve chairs and also my kitchen utensils To have and To hold the said property above bargained and sold to the said Thomas (D) |
