265 possession of the said James Rawlings namely one bay colt three years old one bay horse one bay mare and seven head of cattel To have and To hold all and singular the property above bargained and sold unto the said William Woodward his Executors administrators and assigns for ever Provided always and these presents are upon the Condition that if the said James Rawlings his Executors or administrators do and well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said William Woodward his Executors administrators or assigns the said promissory note of seventy two dollars and Eighty Cents on or before the first day of August Eighteen hundred and forty foure that in such case these presents and every matter and thing therein contained shall be void to all intents and purposes and the said James Rawlings for himself his heirs Executors and administrators all and singular the propety herein by these presents granted bargained and sold and every part thereof unto the said William Woodward his Executors administrators and assigns against him the said James Rawlings his Executors administrators and assigns and against all and every other person or persons whatever shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents In Testimony whereof the said James Rawlings hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first herein before written Signed Sealed and delivered in presents of James Rawlings (seal) Wm Glover R D Woodward At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit On this twenty fourth day of July Eighteen hundred and forty three personally appears before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the said State in and for Anne Arundel County aforesaid James Rawlings of the said County and acknowledges the aforegoing deed or instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the Acts of Assembly in such case made and provided Acknowledged before and Certified by Wm Glover chd 78 6 Recorded the 24th day of July 1843 Know all men by these presents that we John S Selby as Gardion for John W Williams and John W Williams for himself boath of Anne Arundel County in the State of maryland for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred and forty dollars Current money to me the said John W Williams in hand paid by Thomas J Mezick of Anne Arundel County in the said State at and before sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I the said John W Williams do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Thomas J Mezick his Executors administrators and assigns one negro boy Horrace now in my possession for the term (of) |
