238 At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland Anne Arundel County Be it remembered and it is hereby certified on this 7th day of march in the year one thousand Eight hundred and forty three before the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of maryland in and for the County aforesaid personally appeared Philip Clayton who is known to me to be the person named and described as and professing to be a party to the aforegoing indenture or instrument of writing and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand J W Hunter chd 92 7½ Recorded the 7 day of march 1843 Examined and delivered to robert Welch of Ben Know all men by these presents that I John Ennis of Anne Arundel County and State of maryland and for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and twenty five dollars Current money of the United States to me in hand paid b William Bryan of the same County and State the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged has granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said William Bryan the following property to wit one clock one Looking lass one dozen chaires one settee one mahogany dining table one mahogany side board one large looking glass three waiters one table cover one pair brass hand Irons one brass fender one book case two beds bedsteds and bedding one english carpet Kitching furnature To have and To hold the above described property to the said William Bryan his Executors administrators and assigns and to his and their only proper use and behoof and to and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever in Testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal this first day of march Eighteen hundred and forty three his Signed Sealed and delivered in the presents John x Ennis (seal) of J W Hunter mark At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Maryland Sct On this first day of march Eighteen hundred and forty three personally appeared John Ennis party grantor to the aforegoing instrument and and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed the goods and chattles therein described to be the right and Estate of the said William Bryan party grantee therein mentioned and I do further Certify that the said John Ennis is the Identical person proposing to sign the same Taken Before J W Hunter chd 50 3¼ Recorded the 7th day of march 1843 Know all men by these presents that I Dennis H Battee of Anne Arundel County and State of maryland for and in consideration of certain sums of money (loaned) |
