heirs Executors administrators and assigns in and to the said negro man named Alfred
for and during the aforesaid term of servitude and hereby bargained and sold to said
Thomas J Brice his Executors administrators and assigns  In Witness whereof the
said Joshua Grimes and Thomas J Brice have hereunto subscribed their names and
affixed their seals this twenty Eight day of February Eighteen hundred and forty three
Signed Sealed and delivered in presence      Joshua Grimes      (seal)

          At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

    State of maryland Anne Arundel County to wit  Be it remembered and it is hereby
Certified that on this twenty Eighth day of February in the year of our Lord one
thousand Eight hundred forty three before the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the
State of Maryland in and for Anne Arundel County personally appeared Joshua Grimes
and Thomas J Brice they being known to me to be the persons who are named and described
as and professing to be the parties to the foregoing instrument of writing and doth
acknowledge the said instrument of writing to be their act and deed  In Testimony
whereof I hereunto subscribe my name on the day and year aforesaid

6½      Recorded the 28 day of February 1843


    Know all men by these presents that I Dennis Gaither of Anne Arundel
County and State of maryland for the Consideration of the sum of two hundred
dollars current money to me in hand paid by Andrew B Cunningham of Anne Arundel
County and State aforesaid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted
bargained sold and delivered and by these presents do grant bargain sell and
deliver unto the said Andrew B Cunningham my negro Slave William Johnson (willed to
me by Jeremiah Gaither deceased) which said slave William Johnson I will warrant
and defend to the said Andrew B Cunningham his Executors administrators and assigns
against my Executors administrators and against every other person or persons
whomsoever  In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my name and affixed my seal this
twenty Eighth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and
forty three
