231 Know all men by these presents that I Hamilton Bowie of Anne Arundel County in the State of maryland for and in Consideration of the sum of one dollar Current money to me in hand paid by John S Selby of Anne Arundle County in the said State at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Hamilton Bowie do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said John S Selby his Executors administrators and assigns all the Crop of Tobacco supposed to be about fifteen hogsheads more or less now being in the possession of the said Hamilton Bowie To have and To hold the said Crop of Tobacco above bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to be to the said John S Selby his Executors and administrators and assigns forever and I the said Hamilton Bowie for myself my heirs Executors and administrators all and singular the said Crop of Tobacco unto the said John S Selby his Executors administrators and assigns against me the said Hamilton Bowie my Executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents of all and singular which said Crop of Tobacco I the said Hamilton Bowie have put the said John S Selby in full possession by delivering to him the said John S Selby one bundle of Tobacco at the sealing and delivering of these presents in the name of the whole Crop of Tobacco hereby bargained and sold or mentioned and intended to be so unto him the said John S Selby as aforesaid In Witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this sixth day of February in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty three Witness Wm Glover Hamilton Bowie On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of Md Anne Arundel County to wit Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that on this sixth day of February Eighteen hundred and forty three before the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of maryland in and for Anne Arundel County aforesaid personally appears Hamilton Bowie he being known to me to be the person who is named and described as and professing to be a party to the foregoing bill of sale and doth acknowledge the same to be his act and deed In Testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name on the day and year aforesaid chd Wm Glover 62 4½ Recorded the 15th day of February 1843 Know all men by these presents that I John Rollings of Anne Arundel County and State of maryland for the Consideration of the sum of Twenty dollars Current money to me in hand paid by Bradly H Simpson of the County and State aforesaid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained sold and delivered and by these presents do grant bargain |
