23 Know all Men by these presents that I Nathan Warfield of Baltimore City in the State of maryland for the Consideration of the sum of Two hundred dollars Current money to me in hand paid by John Sewell of Anne Arundel County and state aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said John Sewell his Executors administrators and assigns one house frame with the plank and lumber thereto attached one gig and harness one gray horse one cart and harness one plough one wheat fan one Cart frame and body two sows and Eighteen pigs one side board one bureau one book Case one round table one breakfast table three beds bedsteads and furniture one dozen chairs one pair brass and irons one pair doz irons two fenders two pair of tongs and two shovels two knife cases three wash stands ewers and basons one toilet table two iron pots two ovens one pair large and irons one grind Stone two Collurs shovels one spade three weeding hoes three cut glass decanters one dozen cut glass tumblers Eight wine glasses two bread trays with all and Singular my household and kitchen furniture all which property is now in my possession To have and To hold the said described property to the said John Sewell his Executors administrators and assigns forever And I the said Nathan Warfield for myself my heirs Executors and administrators the aforesaid property to the said John Sewell his Executors administrators and assigns against me the said Nathan Warfield my Executors and administrators and against all and every person and persons whomsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents Provided nevertheless that in Case I the said Nathan Warfield shall pay and satisfy the said John Sewell or his Executors administrators & assigns the sum of two hundred dollars Current money with Interest on the same on or before the twenty fourth day of February one thousand Eight hundred and forty then this bill of sale and every matter and thing therein expressed shall be void and of none effect it being the true intent and meaning thereof that the said property is mortgaged by me the said Nathan Warfield to secure to the said John Sewell the payment of the money aforesaid In witness whereof I the said Nathan Warfield have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 24th February 1839 Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of Nathan Warfield (seal) S Gambrill Tho.s R Cross At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Maryland Anne Arundel County Sc On this 24th February 1839 before me one of the Justices of the peace in and for said County appears Nathan (Warfield) |
