209 presents In Testimony whereof the said Thomas W Stinchcomb has hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal this 2nd day of November Eighteen hundred and forty two Signed sealed and delivered in presence of Thomas W Stinchcomb (seal) J W Hunter At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Maryland Sc Be it remembered that on this 2 day of November Eighteen hundred and forty two before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for Anne Arundel County and State aforesaid personally appeared Thomas W Stinchcomb and acknowledged the foregoing instrument of writing to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and I do hereby Certify that the said Thomas W Stinchcomb is the indentical person signing the said instrument of writing Taken before and Certified by J W Hunter chd Recorded the 9th day of November 1842 This Indenture made this twenty sixth day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and forty two between Thomas S McNeir of Anne Arundel County and State of Maryland of the one part and Israel Griffith of the City of Baltimore and State aforesaid of the other part Whereas the said Thomas S McNeir owes and stands Justly indebted unto the Said Israel Griffith in the sum of seven hundred and thirty six dollars and thirty four cents by his three promissory notes dated the Eighteenth day of October in the year Eighteen hundred and forty two in favor of a certain George McNeir and him endorsed to the Said Israel Griffith the first of said notes being for the sum of two hundred and forty five dollars and forty five cents and payable at five months after the date thereof the second being for the sum of two hundred & forty five dollars and forty five cents and payable at six months after the date thereof and the third for the sum of two hundred and forty five dollars and forty four Cents and payable at seven months after the date thereof and to secure the payment of the said notes the said Thomas McNeir is willing to execute these presents Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Thomas S McNeir for and in consideration of the premises and for and in consideration of the Sum of one dollar Current money to him in hand paid by the said Israel Griffith at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Israel Griffith his executors administrators and assigns all and singular his Stock in trade goods wares and merchandize now in his possession at his Shop in Church Street in the City of Annapolis To have and To hold the said Stock in trade goods wares and merchandize herein before granted bargained and sold or (Mentioned) |
