202 children Sam Ellen and Ann a negro lad named Charles and a negro Girl named Charlotte all of which said negroes named and described as aforesaid are now in the possession of the said William H Stewart To have and To hold all and singular the said negroes so described as aforesaid and above bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to be to the said John G Nichols his executors administrators and assigns forever and I the said William H Stewart for myself my heirs executors administrators all and singular the said negroes above bargained and sold or mentioned or intended so to be unto the said John H Stewart my executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents of all and singular which said negroes I the said William H Stewart have put the said John G Nichols in full possession by delivering the same to him the said John G Nichols In witness whereof I the said William H Stewart have hereunto set my hand & seal this twenty second day of October in the year Eighteen hundred and forty two Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of J W Hunter William H Stewart (seal) At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County Sc.t Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that on this twenty second day of October in the year Eighteen hundred and forty two before the Subscribers a Justice of the peace of the County and state aforesaid appears William H Stewart the above bargainor he being known to me to be the person who is named and described and professing to be a party to the foregoing instrument of writing and doth acknowledge the same to be his act and deed In Testimony whereof I hereunto set my name on the day and year aforesaid chd J W Hunter 60.cts 4¾ Recorded the 22 day of October 1842 State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit Know all men by these presents that I John Allein of the state of maryland and County of Anne Arundel for and in consideration of the sum of Thirty six Dollars and Twenty seven Cents Current money to me in hand paid by Rev.d William G Deale of the County and State aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I the said John Allein do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said William G Deale his Executors administrators and assigns all my crop of Tobacco which grew this year except That part due for Rent of the Ground on which it Grew supposed to be about Fifteen hundred Pounds weight when striped from the Stalks To have and To hold the said property |
