said David M Perine the negro boys following to be slaves for terms of years
respectively vizt Tom Tyler aged twenty three years to serve six years from
the date hereof Alfred Taylor aged Eighteen years to serve eight years from
the date hereof and Bealle Gibson aged sixteen years to serve ten years
from the date hereof & then to revert to the said Richard P Snowden  To have
and To hold the said negro Boys Tom Alfred and Bealle for the said
terms of six eight and ten years unto the said David M Perine his
Executors administrators and assigns and to and for his & there sole use
and behoof for and during the said terms  In Testimony whereof the
parties hereto have set their hands and affixed their seals this Eighteenth
day of February Eighteen hundred and thirty nine

                On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

    State of Maryland Anne Arundel County Sct  Be it remembered
that on this Eighteenth day of February Eighteen hundred and thirty
nine before the Subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of
maryland in and for Anne Arundel County personally appear
Richard P Snowden and David M Perine parties to the aforegoing
bill of Sale and acknowledge the same to be their act and deed
for the purposes therein mentioned

Know all Men by these presents that I Richard P Snowden
of Anne Arundel County State of Maryland for and in consideration
of the sum of Eight hundred and thirty three & ⅓ dollars to me in hand
paid by George R Gaither of the City of Baltimore have bargained
and sold and by these presents do bargain and sell unto the said George
R Gaither the following negro slaves for terms of years vizt George aged
19 years to serve eight years Jim aged 21 years to serve six years from
the date hereof and John aged 21 years to serve six years from the
date hereof and then to revert to me my Executors administrators and
assigns  To have and To hold the said negroes George Jim and John
unto the said George R Gaither for the said terms of 8, 6 & 6 years
and to his Executors administrators & assigns  In Testimony whereof
the parties hereunto have set their hands and seals the Seventh day of
