191 in such case these presents and every matter and thing herein contained shall cease determine and be utterly null and void to all intents and purposes anything herein contained to the Contrary notwithstanding and the said Hamilton Bowie for himself his Executors and administrators doth covenant grant promise and agree to and with the said Elizabeth H Bowie her executors administrators and assigns that he the said Hamilton Bowie his executors or administrators or some one of them the said Elizabeth H Bowie her executors administrators or assigns the said full sum of three hundred and fifty three dollars Current money with legal interest thereon will well and truly pay or cause to be paid without any deduction or abatement on the day herein before limited for the payment thereof and the said Hamilton Bowie for himself his executors and administrators the said negro man hereby bargained and sold unto the said Elizabeth H Bowie her executors administrators and assigns against him the said Hamilton Bowie her Executors and administrators and against all and every person or persons Claiming or to Claim by through or under him and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents In Witness whereof the said Hamilton Bowie hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first herein before written Signed Sealed & delivered in presence of Hamilton Bowie (seal) J W Hunter On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland Sc Be it remembered that on this the ninth day of August in the year Eighteen hundred and forty two before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of maryland in and for Anne Arundel County personally appeared Hamilton Bowie party grantor in the annexed deed or instrument of writing and acknowledged the same to be his act & deed according to the purposes true intent and meaning thereof And the acts of assembly in such case made and provided And I hereby Certify Hamilton Bowie is known to me of my own knowledge to be the person named in described as and professing to be party grantor in the Annexed deed or Instrument of writing Acknowledged before and Certified by chd J W Hunter .75cts 6 Recorded the 29th day of August 1842 Know all men by these presents that I James Owens of Anne Arundel County and State of Maryland for and in Consideration of the sum of one thousand four hundred dollars Current money to me in hand paid by James Owens Sen.r of the County and State aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I the said James Owens J.r do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said James Owens Sen.r his (executors) |
