Know all men by these presents that I John Owens of Anne Arundel County
and state of maryland for and in consideration of the sum of Eighty six dollars and
nineteen cents Current money to me in hand paid by Joseph Chaney of the County
and State aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt
whereof I hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents
do grant bargain and sell unto the said Joseph Chaney his Executors administrators
and assigns one sorrel mare & colt one Bay horse one sorrel Colt one year old Seven hogs
one Heiffer one Sein and one Boat all which property is now in my possession  To have
and To hold the same described property above bargained and sold to the said Joseph
Chaney his executors administrators & assigns forever to his & their only proper use and
benefit  And I the said John Owens for myself my executors and administrators
shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents unto the said Joseph
Chaney her Executors administrators and assigns the said above described property
against me and my Executors and administrators and against all and every other
person or persons Claiming the same or any part thereof  In Testimony whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this the Eighteenth day of June in the year
of our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty two

                On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit  Be it remembered that on this the
Eighteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and
forty two before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of maryland
in & for Anne Arundel County personally appeared John Owens party grantor
in the annexed deed or Instrument of writing and acknowledged the same to be his
act and deed according to the purport true intent and meaning thereof and the acts of
assembly in such case made and provided

       This Indenture made this ninth day of July in the year Eighteen hundred
and forty two between John Sands of the City of Annapolis in the state of maryland
of the one part and The President Directors and Company of the Farmers Bank of maryland
of the other part whereas the said John Sands owes and stands justly indebted to the said
President Directors and Company in the sum of Eight hundred dollars Current
money by his promissory note discounted by them which sum of money and every part
thereof whether received by the said promissory note or any renewal thereof or substitute
