farming utencils &.c herein after particularly mentioned and expressed
that is to say one Ball Sorrel Horse Eleven ^years^ old one Brown Mare 4 years
old Ten Barrells Corn nine Hogs 1 Harrow 2 ploughs Cart body and
Shafts 1 waggon waggon gears and all my farming untencils  To have
and To hold all and singular the said goods Horses farming utencils
waggon &.c unto the said Talbott G Shipley his Executors administrators
and assigns to his and their own use and behoof  Provided always
and it is declared to be the true intent and meaning of these presents
that if the said Mahlon and Nelson Sulivan do and shall well and
truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Talbott G Shipley his
Executors administrators or assigns the full sum of Two hundred &
Thirty Eight dollars and seventy Eight Cents Current Money with legal
Interest for the same on or before the first day of January in the year
of Eighteen Hundred and forty then and in such Case these
presents and everything and matter herein Contained shall cease
and determine and be utterly void to all intents and purposes any
thing herein Contained to the Contrary Notwithstanding and the said
Mahlon and Nelson Sulivan for themselves their heirs Executors or
administrators shall and will well and truly pay or cause to be paid
unto the said Talbott G Shipley his heirs Executors administrators
or assigns the said sum of Two hundred and thirty Eight dollars
and seventy seven Cents Current money together with Interest
for the same after the rate aforesaid at such time and in such
manner as herein before set forth and agree for the payment thereof
In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this
first day of January first herein before written

          On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

State of maryland Anne Arundel County to wit  Be it remembered and
it is hereby Certified that on this first day of January Eighteen hundred
and thirty nine before the Subscriber one of the Justices of the peace
of the state of maryland in and for Anne Arundel County aforesaid
personally appears Mahlon Sullivan and Nelson Sullivan they being
known to me to be the persons who are named and described as and
professing to be a party to the foregoing deed or Indenture and doth
acknowledge the said Indenture or Instrument of writing to be there
act and deed  In Testimony whereof I hereunto Subscribe my name
