164 To have and To hold the said negro so described as aforesaid to the said John Randall his Executors administrators and assigns according to the purport true intent and Meaning of the above recited deed and to and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever In Witness whereof the said Philip Clayton has hereunto set his hand and seal this Seventeenth day of March Eighteen hundred and forty two Signed sealed and delivered in Philip Clayton (seal) presence of Wm Glover Debt Shff At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Maryland Anne Arundel County Sct On this seventeenth day of march in the year Eighteen hundred and forty two personally appears Philip Clayton party to the above Bill of sale before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for said County and State aforesaid and acknowledges the aforegoing Bill of sale to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof And I do hereby certify the said Philip Clayton is known to me to be the identical person named in said Bill of sale or instrument of writing Acknowledged before W.m Glover chd Recorded the 17.th day of march 1842 Know all Men by these Presents That Whereas John D Meekins of Anne Arundel County State of maryland sole owner of the Schooner Sarah Ann Webster stands indebted unto Samuel Dunnock of Dorchester County State aforesaid the sum of Eight hundred and fourteen dollars and twenty six Cents and hath given for the same his six several promissory notes for one hundred and thirty five dollars and seventy one Cents each payable at three six nine twelve fifteen and Eighteen months after the 16 day March 1842 with legal interest and to secure the payment thereof Execute this Mortgage Now know ye that the said John D Meekins for the Consideration aforesaid and also for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar current money to him in hand paid at the time of the perfection of these presents by the said Samuel Dunnock the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold assigned transferred and set over and by these presents do grant bargain sell assign transfer and set over unto the said Samuel Dunnock his Executors administrators and assigns all that the said Schooner called The Sarah Ann Webster of Annapolis together with all and singular her masts yards sails Rigging anchors Cables Boats Tackle Apparel and appertenances as she is at this time and is more particularly described in a Certificate of Emolument granted her at the port of Annapolis in the following words No 3 three An Act of the Congress of the United States of America entitled an act for the enrolling and Licensing Ships or vessels to be employed in the Coasting Trade and Fisheries and for regulating the Same John D Meekins of (Anne) |
