161 At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Received on the day of the date of the aforegoing Bill of sale or Instrument of writing from the therein named Samuel Ellicott Jun.r the sum of three hundred dollars Lawful money the Consideration within expressed to be paid by him to me his Witness Saml Purviance Frederick x Rickter mark State of Maryland Baltimore City Sct Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that on this third day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty two Before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of maryland in and for the City of Baltimore aforesaid personally appeared Frederick Rickter and acknowledged the foregoing bill of sale or Instrument of writing to be his act and deed In Testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name on the day and year aforesaid Sam.l Purviance State of Maryland Baltimore County Sct I hereby Certify that Samuel Purviance Gentleman before whom the within acknowledgment was made and who hath thereto subscribed his name was at the time of so doing a Justice of the peace of the state aforesaid in and for the City of Baltimore duly Commissioned and sworn In Testimony whereof I hereto set me hand and affix the seal of (Seal) Baltimore County Court this 3 day of February 1842 chd Thos Kell Clk 73 6 Recorded the 18 day of February 1842 This Indenture made this Twenty fourth day of February in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty two Between Benjamin Robinson and Harriet Robinson his wife of the City of Baltimore in the state of maryland of the one part and James L Sutton of the City and state aforesaid of the other part whereas the said Benjamin Robinson is indebted unto the said James L Sutton the sum of four hundred and twelve dollars and fifty seven cents on his Promissory Note dated January 1.st 1842 and payable twelve months after date & to secure the payment thereof at the time mentioned the said Benjamin & Harriet are willing to Execute these presents Now this Indenture witnesseth that the said Benjamin Robinson and Harriet Robinson his wife for and in consideration of the premises and of the sum of Ten dollars Current money to them in hand paid by the said James L Sutton at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge Have granted bargained and sold and by these presents Do grant bargain and sell unto the said James L Sutton his Executors administrators and assigns all the wood now growing standing or being on all that Tract or parcel of Land lying and being on the South side of magothy River in Anne Arundel County State aforesaid and containing one hundred and forty acres of Land which tract or parcel of Land constituted a part of the Maiden Estate of the said Harriet To have (and) |
