152 This Indenture made this Eighteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty two between Tilghman Sable of Anne Arundel County in the state of maryland of the one part and William Taylor of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of thirty dollars Current money of the United States to the said Tilghman Sables in hand paid at or before the sealing and delivering of these presents by William Taylor aforesaid the receipt wereof is hereby acknowledged the said Tilghman Sable hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto him the said William Taylor his Executors administrators and assigns a molato woman named Nelly Young a slave for life To have and To hold the said molato woman as above stated unto the said William Taylor his Executors administrators and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said William Taylor his Executors administrators and assigns In Witness whereof the said Tilghman Sables and the said William Taylor have hereto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first herein before written Signed Sealed and Delivered in Tilghman Sable (seal) presence of J W Hunter Wm Taylor (seal) On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland Anne Arundel County Be it remembered that on this Eighteenth day of January Eighteen hundred and forty two personally appeared Tilghman Sable party grantor mentioned in the within deed or instrument of writing and William Taylor party grantee also therein mentioned before me the subscriber a Justice of the parties in said deed and acknowledges the said deed or instrument of writing to be their act and deed J W Hunter chd .53 4 Recorded the 2 day of February 1842 This Indenture made this fourth day of February in year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty two between Passmore McCullough of Anne Arundel County and state of maryland of the one part and Benjamin E Gantt Stephen Gambrill John Sewell and John RIce of the County and state aforesaid of the other part Whereas the said Benjamin E Gantt and Stephen Gambrill are sureties for said Passmore McCullough on three notes one bearing date the Ninth day of January Eighteen hundred and forty one for the sum of one hundred and thirty Eight dollars and fifty cents Current money payable to Brooks & Hotchkiss or order six months after date and bearing date the same day and year aforesaid for the sum of one hundred (and) |
