147 Know all Men by these presents that I Joshua Rawlings of Anne Arundel County and State of maryland for and in Consideration of the sum of Eight hundred and dollars Current money to me in hand paid by John Sewell and James Rawlings of the County and state aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said John Sewell and James Rawlings their Executors administrators and assigns two mares one horse four Cows twelve head of hogs two large Carts one light Carriage one large harrow three ploughs one lot of Cabbage one negro woman called Emily five beds bedsteads and bedding one dozen Cane bottom Chairs one dozen Common chairs two mahogany tables one eight day clock three pair brass andirons one fender Shovel and tongs one Hare Carpet one gilt frame looking glass one nine plate Stoves half dozen Silver table spoons & one dozen silver teaspoons all which property is now in my possession To have and To hold the Same described property above bargained and sold to the said John Sewell and James Rawlings their Executors administrators and assigns forever to them and their only proper use and benefit and I the said Joshua Rawlings for myself my Executors and administrators shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents to the said John Sewell and James Rawlings their Executors administrators and assigns the said described property against me my Executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever claiming the same or any part thereof In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 15th December 1841 Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of after interlining the word "money in the Joshua Rawlings (seal) third line J Gambrill Robert Stewart At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit On this 15 December 1841 before me one of the Justices of the peace in and for said County Appears Joshua Rawlings and acknowledges the foregoing writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such case made and provided J Gambrill Exd d d chd 53.cts 4 Recorded the 17th day of December 1841 Know all Men by these presents that I Deborah Johnson of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars Current money to me in hand paid by John Lamb of the County and state aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Deborah Johnson do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said John Lamb his Executors administrators |
