12 Anne Arundel County to wit On this 13th day of December 1838 before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for the County aforesaid personally appears Catherine V Dumeste and acknowledges the foregoing Instrument of writing to be her act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned according to the true intent and meaning thereof And the acts of assembly in such Case made and provided Acknowledged before Mortimer Dorsey chd 6¼ Recorded the 24th day of December 1838 Know all Men by these presents that I N A Stockett of Anne Arundel County and state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of sixty dollars Current money to me in hand paid by Thomas N Stockett of the same County at or before the ensealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Nicholas A Stockett do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Thomas N Stockett his Executors administrators and assigns the following property to wit two Horses two Cows two yearlings ten head of hogs and all my household furniture together with all me present Crop now growing on the farm on which I now reside as also all of my Crop of Tobacco now standing and growing on a farm which I rent of Joseph Steward now in my possession To have and To hold the aforesaid described property to the said Thomas N Stockett his Executors administrators and assigns forever and I the said Nicholas A Stockett for myself my heirs Executors and administrators the aforesaid property to the said Thomas N Stockett his Executors administrators and assigns against me the said Nicholas A Stockett my Executors and administrators and against all and every person and persons whomsoever shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents In Witness whereof I the said Nicholas A Stockett have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the third day of January in the year Eighteen hundred and thirty nine Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of N A Stockett (seal) Edward Dubois At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Anne Arundel County to wit On this 3d day of January 1839 before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for said County appears Nicholas A Stockett and acknowledges the foregoing Instrument (of) |
