115 Sarah d.o d.o 41 d.o Betty d.o d.o 30 d.o Sally d.o d.o 33 d.o Violetta d.o d.o 15 d.o Charlotte a girl d.o 10 d.o Maria d.o d.o 8 d.o Eliza d.o d.o 11 d.o Priscilla d.o d.o 9 months William a man aged 27 years Jim a boy d.o 12 d.o Edmund d.o d.o 10 d.o Charles d.o d.o 8 d.o Moses d.o d.o 6 d.o Sam d.o d.o 5 d.o Samuel d.o d.o 1 d.o Thomas d.o d.o Hill Younger To Have and To Hold each and every of the Negroes above bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to be to the said Charles J Stewart and William H Stewart their Executors administrators and assigns forever share and share alike and I the said Edward H Stewart for myself my heirs Executors and administrators all and singular the above mentioned negroes unto them the said Charles J Stewart and William H Stewart their Executors administrators and assigns respectively against me the said Edward H Stewart surviving Trustee my Executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents having delivered possession of said Negroes at the time of the sealing and delivery thereof In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this fifteenth day of February Eighteen hundred and forty one Signed Sealed and Delivered in Edw.d H Stewart Trustee (seal) presence of J W Hunter On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland Anne Arundel County Sct On this fifteenth February 1841 before the Subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of maryland for Annarundel County personally appeared Edward H Stewart party to the foregoing bill of sale he being well known to us and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed Exd J W Hunter chd 62¼ 5 Recorded the 15th day of February 1841 Know all men by these presents that we Charles J Stewart and William H Stewart of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland devisees under the will of William Stewart late of said County deceased having agreed with our father Edward H Stewart in consideration of his conveying and delivering to us immediate possession of one half of the negroes bequeathed to him and his wife our deceased mother by the said William Stewart in trust for our use after their death and which said negroes amounting to Eighteen are enumerated in a bill of sale from said Edward H Stewart to us of same date as these presents intended to be recorded among the records of Anne Arundel County Court Have bargained sold assigned transferred and set over And by these presents do bargain sell assign transfer and set over unto the said Edward H Stewart in Trust the following negroes to wit Sarah aged twenty five years (Sophia) |
