116 Sophia aged seventeen Andy aged Seventy Jimmy aged forty Eight Charlotte aged aged sixteen Polly aged thirteen Rebecca aged aged ten years Moses aged Sixty two James aged fifty two John Bean aged fifty Samuel aged thirty two John aged twenty six Will aged twenty three George aged twenty Charles aged aged ten John Henry aged two months To have and To hold each and every of the negroes above bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to be to the said Edward H Stewart his Executors administrators and assigns forever In Trust and Confidence for the support of his family for and during his natural life and after his death to be equally divided among all his children except ourselves by our late mother who may survive him but with no authority to said Trustee to sell and dispose of any of the Negroes herein before mentioned unless the proceeds of the sale of such negroe or negroes be immediately invested again in personal or real property for the benit of his family aforesaid to be managed in Trust as aforesaid and we the said grantors for ourselves our heirs executors and administrators respectively all and singular the above mentioned negroes unto him the said Edward H Stewart his Executors administrators and assigns against us the said grantors our Executors and administrators respectively and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents having delivered up possession of said negroes at the time of sealing and delivering hereof In Witness whereof we have hereto set our hands and seals respectively this fifteenth day of February Eighteen hundred and forty one Signed sealed and delivered in the Charles J Stewart (seal) presence of J W Hunter Wm Glover William H Stewart (seal) At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland Anne Arundel County Sc.t On this fifteenth day of February in the year Eighteen hundred and forty one personally appeared before us the Subscribers two Justices of the peace in and for the County and state aforesaid Charles J Stewart and William H Stewart they being personally known to us and acknowledged the aforegoing Instrument of writing to be their act and deed for the purposes herein mentioned Acknowledged before and Certified by Ex.d J W Hunter Wm Glover chd 67 5½ Recorded the 15th day of February 1841 Know all men by these presents that I Gassaway Winterson of Anne Arundel County and State of maryland for and in Consideration of the sum of two hundred (dollars) |
