to carry out my said original intention in regard to said
Jane and her issue.  Now therefore I the said M.c Lane
Brown of Howard County in the State of Maryland in
Consideration of the premises and for divers good causes
and considerations me thereunto moving have released
from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and
by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate
manumit and set free from and after the dates
hereinafter particularly set forth my said negro slaves
Jane Charles Harriet Maria George and William
and them the said negroes just hereinbefore named I do
hereby declare to be free manumitted and discharged
from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors
or administrators forever from and after the dates
hereinafter particularly set forth as to each of the said
negroes respectively that is to say Jane to be free
from and after the third day of March eighteen hundred
and sixty when she will attain the age of forty years
Charles from and after the thirtieth day of April
eighteen hundred and seventy eight.  Harriet from and
after the thirtieth day of April eighteen hundred and
eighty three.  Maria from and after the thirtieth day
of November eighteen hundred and eighty four George
from and after the first day of April eighteen hundred
and eighty seven and William from and after the
fifteenth day of January eighteen hundred and eighty nine
said dates as to the said five children of the said Jane
being fixed at or near the days when they respectively
will attain the age of thirty five years.  And I do
hereby declare fix and determine that the state and
condition of the issue that may be born of the said
Jane and of the said Harriet and Maria on or before
the days named above when they respectively are set
free shall be that of slaves until such issue shall
arrive at the age of thirty five years and in case of
any such issue being females and their female
descendants shall have issue during their respective
periods of service then and in every such case the
state and condition of such issue shall be that
of slaves until such issue shall arrive at the
age of thirty five years.   [The negro woman Jane
hereinbefore mentioned is the same conveyed by me in
trust with their personal property to Zachariah Brown
by assignment dated the twenty eighth day of December
eighteen hundred and forty eight and recorded among
