whereas the said Richard L. Ensey by Indenture of Bill of sale or mortgage bearing date on the fifth day of march 1853 duly executed acknowledged and recorded among the chattels record of Howard county court Liber E. P. 26 folio 473 &c did for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and fifty dollars current money grant bargain and sell unto the said Henry Forsyth his heirs and assigns all the following property to wit one Brown horse Jim about seven years old one black horse Jim about nine years old one threshing machine and one field of wheat then growing on the farm whereon Thomas Barnes at that time did reside as by reference to the said Bill of sale (or Mortgate) will more fully and at large appear and whereas the said Richard L. Ensey hath fully paid and satisfied to him the said Henry Forsyth the above mentioned sum of money and interest thereon he the said Henry Forsyth doth agree to execute this instrument of writing as a full release of the above described property. Now This Indenture witnesseth that the said Henry Forsyth for and in consideration of the payment of the above mentioned sum of money and the interest thereon and for and in consideration of the further sum of one dollar to him in hand paid by the said Richard L. Ensey at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained and sold released and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell and release unto him the said Richard L. Ensey his heirs and assigns all the above mentioned goods and chattels so as aforesaid described. To Have and To Hold the same for his own proper use and benefit. In witness whereof the said Henry Forsyth hath hereunto set his hand and seal on the day and year first above written signed sealed and delivered Henry Forsyth (seal) in presence of Reuben Warfield state of maryland Howard county to wit on this first day of January |
