And at the same time appeared before me Matilda Scott the
grantee in the Said Bill of Sale named and made oath that
the consideration set forth in said Bill of Sale is true and
bona fide as therein set forth

Know all men by these presents
That Joshua H Shipley Excetor of
Amelia Shipley late of Howard
County deceased and State of
                           Maryland for and in Consideration of the Sum of Two
                           hundred and ninety six dollars lawful money of the
                           United States in hand paid by Thomas H Hunt at
                           and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the
                           receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged:  Have granted
                           bargained and sold and by these presents Do grant
                           bargain and Sell unto the said Thomas H Hunt his heirs
                           Executors, Administrators and assigns a negro woman
                           Crill belonging to the estate of the Said Amelia Shipley
                           deceased a slave for ^a^ term of years to serve for nine years
                           from the 12th of Febuary 1860.  To Have and To Hold the
                           Said described negro woman Crill to the said Thomas
                           H Hunt his Executors Administrators and assigns for
                           ever and the said Joshua H Shipley for his heirs Executors
                           and Administrators the said Joshua H Shipley unto the
                           said Thomas H Hunt his Executors and Administrators
                           and assigns against the said Joshua H Shipley his
                           Executors and Administrators and against all and every
                           person or persons Whatsoever shall and will warrant and
                           forever defend by these presents.  In Witness Whereof I have
                           hereunto set my Hand and Seal this 19th day of October
                           Eighteen hundred and 60

                                                            SS.
                           Be it remembered That on this nineteenth day of October
                           1860 before the Subscriber a Justice of the peace for Howard
                           County appears Joshua H Shipley and acknowledges the above
                           Instrument of writing to be his act and deed according
                           to the true intent and meaning thereof.  And at the same
                           time appeard before me Thomas H Hunt the grantee
