set forth in the said bill of sale is true and bona fide

Matilda Scott
Know all men by these presents
That I John McEldowney of Howard
County and State of Maryland
for and in Consideration of the sum
                                of five hundred and fifty dollars lawful money of the
                                United States due and owing to Matilda Scott of the
                                county aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of these
                                presents the receipt Whereof is hereby acknowledged:  Have
                                granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents Do grant
                                bargain and Sell, unto the Said Matilda Scott her Executors
                                Administrators and assigns three horses as follows one bay
                                horse called Sam, one bay horse called Bill and one chesnut
                                horse Called Tom, one Durham Cow called Anne, one
                                White and red cow called Matty, one black and White Cow
                                and one Cow Called _____  one Rockaway, one market wagon
                                one four horse waggon and six ploughs, 1 roan
                                Mare 1 Red Cow Called Nannie one cart and one year
                                old Heifer Called daisey and one black cow
                                To Have and To Hold the Said described property to the
                                said Matilda Scott her Executors Administrators and assigns
                                forever: and he the Said John McEldowney for
                                himself his Heirs, Executors and Administrators, the said
                                property unto the said Matilda Scott her Executors and Administrators
                                and assigns against him the Said John McEldowney
                                his Executors and Administrators and against all
                                and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will
                                warrant and forever defend by these presents  In Witness
                                Whereof  ___ have hereunto set ___ hand and Seal this fifth
                                day of October Eighteen hundred and Sixty
                                Signed Sealed and Delivered
                                      in the presence of                  John McEldowney   (Seal)
                                   J G. Worthington                 SS.
                                                                          Be it remembered That on this fifth
                                day of Oct 1860 before the Subscriber a Justice of the Peace
                                for Howard County appears John McEldowney and acknowledges
                                the above Instrument of Writing to be his act
                                and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof
