46 and seal this thirty first day of August Eighteen hundred and fifty four Signed sealed and Evan Hughes (seal) delivered in the presence of Beal Helms Ignatius Waters J Peace State of Maryland Howard County to wit. Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that on this thirty first day of August Eighteen hundred and fifty four before the subscriber a justice of the peace of the State of Maryland in and for the county aforesaid personally appears Evan Hughes party grantor to the foregoing bill of sale or instrument of writing and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof And at the same time personally appeared William Hughes grantee in the said bill of sale and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in the said Bill of sale or instrument of writing is true and bona fide as therein set forth Ignatius Waters J. Peace Received on the aforegoing instrument of writing who presented for record one dollar in lieu of stamp under the act of 1846 ch. 61 W. H.
