439 my hand and seal this sixteenth day of april one thousand eight hundred and sixty Edwd Harwood William Hardy (seal) Thomas Jenkins State of Maryland Howard County to wit I hereby Certify that on this sixteenth day of April in the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty before the Subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for Howard County personally appeared William Hardey and acknowledged the above deed of manumission to be his act Edwd Harwood J. P. Received to be recorded on the 16th day of april 1860 at 11½ oclk Am Same day recorded and Examined per W. W Watkins clk
from the 20th day of January 1860 and in Consideration thereof do hereby bargain and sell to the said Thomas B. Hobbs the following property to wit one cow one bead and bedstead and bedding one half dozen chairs two tables one looking glass and one dress stand provided that if I the said William H Clark shall pay to the said Thomas B Hobbs the sum of Twenty five dollars and all interest thereon on or before Twentieth day of July 1860 then these presents shall be void otherwise in full force and virtue at law Witness my hand and seal this nineteenth day of April 1860 W H Clark (Seal) State of Maryland Howard County Sct I hereby certify that on this 19th day of april in the year 1860 before the Subscriber a Justice of the peace of the said state in and for the County aforesaid personally appeared William H Clark and acknowledged the foregoing mortgage to be his act and at the same time before me also appeared Thomas B. Hobbs and made oath in due form of law that the Consideration in the said mortgage is true and bona fide as therein set forth John Ridgely of Jon Justice of the peace for Howard County |
