Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the premises and of the sum of one dollar to them in hand paid by the said Horatio at and before the execution of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Horatio Trundle his Executors Administrators and assigns all and singular the slaves horses cattle goods and chattles hereinafter particularly mentioned and expressed that is to say the following negro slaves now in the possession of the parties of the first part namely negro man Leven aged about forty five years negro woman Charlotte aged about thirteen years Negro Boy Henry aged about fifteen years and negro boy Moses aged about Thirteen years slaves for life: also one black horse four years old one bay horse four years old one pair of young oxen five cows all young one Bull twenty five sheep four large chester sows one large Chester Bore one four horse waggon one ox cart two large new harrows three large new ploughs two shovel ploughs two double shovels three cultivators one Wheat Fan one Corn Sheller and Cutting Box Harness log chain grubbing Hoes one new reaper and one new wheat drill and all the household furniture To Have and to hold all and singular the said negro slaves, horses, cattle, farming utensils goods chattles implements and furniture unto the said Horatio Trundle his Executors Administrators and assigns to his and for their own use and behoof Provided always and it is declared to be the ^true^ intention and meaning of these presents that if the said Francis S Key do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Horatio Trundle his executors administrators or assigns the full sum of two thousand dollars with legal interest on the same annually on or before the second day of October eighteen hundred and fifty six then and in such case these presents and every matter and thing herein contained shall cease and be utterly void to all intents and purposes anything herein contained to the contrary notwithstanding And the said Francis S Key for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth hereby covenant |
