Basil Crapster
Manumission To
Lydia Dorsey
I Basil Crapster of Howard County and
State of Maryland do hereby manumit
and set free my negro slave Lydia Dorsey
She being of the age of thirty two years of
bright mulatto color and of the hight five feet and four inches
or thereabout her freedom to commence from the date of these presents
Witness my hand and seal this Twenty first day of May Eighteen hundred
and sixty

                                     State of Maryland Howard County to wit
I hereby certify that on this twenty first day of May Eighteen hundred
and sixty before the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and

deed

Know all men by these presents
that I Solomon Dorsey of Howard
County and State of Maryland
for divers good Cases and considerations
me thereunto moving have released from slavery
Liberated manumitted and set free and by these
presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit
and set free my negro children being slaves to me
namely Charles Dorsey aged twenty eight years the 5th day
of June 1858 Susannah Dorsey aged twenty three years the
25th day of March 1858, John Thomas Dorsey aged nineteen
years the 20th day of June 1858 Mary Ellen Dorsey aged
fifteen years the 22nd day of January 1858 Georgianna
Dorsey aged thirteen years the 16th day of July 1858
Perregrine Dorsey aged Eleven years the 28th day of February
1858 James William Dorsey aged nine years the
31st day of May 1858 and Margaret Dorsey aged six
years the 5th day of July 1858 The Freedom of Charles
Dorsey and Susannah Dorsey to commence from the
