Church over the age of Twenty one years
    In Testimony Whereof We have hereunto Subscribed our
names the day and year first above written

Mortgage to
John R Clark
 I George Watson of Howard County
Maryland being now indebted on
my promissory note of even dates
herewith to Jno R. Clark of the County
and State aforesaid in the sum of one hundred dollars
do hereby bargain and sell to the said Jno R. Clark the
following property to wit one Grey horse bought of D.r Mc
Glocklin one stallion called "Billy" one chesnut mare
bought of Nathan Hobbs and two new single sleighs and
two coverd buggies.    Provided that If I the said
George Watson shall pay to the said Jno R Clark the
sum of one hundred dollars with interest thereon on or
before the first day of June eighteen hundred and sixty
then these presents shall be void
And provided that if default shall be made in the payment
of the money aforesaid or the interest thereon at the
time or in the manner aforesaid then it shall be lawfull
for the said John R Clark to sell the said Mortgaged property
by public auction for curb after giving at least three
weeks public notice of the time, place, manner and term
of sale in one or more newspapers published at least twice
a week for three successive weeks prior to the day of sale
to pay the debt and the surplus of any over to the said

State of Maryland Howard County to Wit
I hereby certify that on this third day of February in the year
eighteen hundred and sixty before the subscriber a Justice of
the peace of the County and State aforesaid personally appeared
George Watson and acknowledged the aforegoing
Mortgage to be his act:  And at the same time persally
appeared Jno R Clark and made Oath in due form

I hereby Release the within Mortgage
witness my hand and seal on this 15th day of Jan 1861
