   Indenture to
Peirce Curll
This Indenture made this Tenth day of
January in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and sixty by
and between William Baldwin (coloured)
                    of Howard County in the State of Maryland of the one part
                    and Peirce Curll of the County and State aforesaid of the
                    other part.  Witnesseth that the said William Baldwin hath
                    placed and bound out and by these presents doth place and
                    bind out his daughter Emily Baldwin who on the fifteenth
                    day of June next will be of the age of Seven years as an apprentice
                    to the said Peirce Curll to learn the art trade and
                    mystery of General House Keeping after the manner of an
                    apprentice the said Emily Baldwin to dwell with and serve
                    the said Peirce Currll from the date of these presents untill
                    the Fifteenth day of June when the said Emily Baldwin
                    shall attain to the age of Eighteen years during all which
                    time and term the said Emily Baldwin shall the said Peirce
                    Currll well and faithfully serve in all such lawful business
                    as the said Emily Baldwin shall be put unto by her said
                    master according to the power and ability of her the said
                    Emily Baldwin and honestly and obediently in all things
                    shall behave herself towards her said master and honestly
                    and orderly towards the rest of the family of the said Peirce
                    Curll            And the said Peirce Curll on his part does hereby
                    promise Covenant and agree to teach and instruct the
                    said apprentice of cause her to be taught and instructed
                    in the art trade or calling of a House Keeper by the least
                    way or means he can and shall well and faithfully find
                    and prove for the said apprentice good and sufficient Meat
                    Drink Clothing Lodging and other necessaries fit and convenient
                    for such an apprentice during the term aforesaid
                    and at the expiration thereof shall give unto the said
                    apprentice two suits of wearing apparel one suitable for
                    Sundays the other for working days
                          In Testimony Whereof the said William Baldwin and
                    Peirce Curll have hereunto interchangably set their hands
                    and seals                                                               his
                    Test date changed from Eighteen hundred   William x Baldwin   (seal)
                    and fifty nine to Eighteen hundred and                   mark
