412 be lawful for the said Jno R Clark to sell the said Mortgaged property by public Auction for cash after giving at least three weeks public notice of the time place manner and terms of sale in one or more newspapers published in Howard County in the state of Maryland at least twice a week for three successive weeks prior to the day of sale to pay the debt and the surplus if any over to the said George Watson Witness my hand and Seal this nineteenth day of December in the year eighteen hundred and fifty nine Test J G Worthington Geo Watson (seal) State of Maryland Howard County to wit: I hereby certify that on this nineteenth day of December Eighteen hundred and fifty nine before the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for the County and State aforesaid personally appeared George Watson and acknowledged the foregoing mortgage to be his act and at the same time personally appeared Jno R Clark and made oath in due form of law that the consideration in the said Mortgage is true and bona fide as therein set forth J G Worthington Received to be recorded on the 19th day of December 1859 at 3¼ oclk P. M. same day recorded and examined per W. W. Watkins clk
both of whom became the property of said Mary C Hammond from the estate of her mother Mrs Eleanor Mackubin from the first day of January eighteen hundred and sixty nine inclusive.
