397 presents doth place and bind out his son Randolph Fowler who on the first day of May next will be of the age of Eighteen years as an apprentice to the said Thomas McCauley to learn the art trade and mistery of Boot and shoe making after the manner of an apprentice; the said Randolph Fowler to dwell with and serve the said Thomas McCauley from the date of September the eighth in the year Eighteen hundred and fifty Eight until the Eighth day of September where the said Randolph Fowler shall have served the term of three years during all of which time and term the said Randolph Fowler shall the said Thomas McCauly well and truly and faithfully serve in all such lawful business as the said Randolph Fowler shall be put unto by his said master accordind to the power and ability of him the said Randolph Fowler and Honestly and obediently in all things behave himself towards his said master and honestly and orderly towards the rest of the family of him the said Thomas McCauley. And the said Thomas McCauly on his part doth hereby covenant promise and agree to teach and instruct the said Randolph Fowler or cause him to be taught and instructed in the art trade or calling of a Boot and Shoe maker by the best way ^and^ or meanes he can and shall well and faithfully find and provide for the said apprentice good and sufficiently meat drink Lodging and other necessaries fit and convenient for such an apprentice during the term of three years as aforesaid and the said Thomas McCauly Covenants that he will pay the said William Fowler the sum of Thirty dollars for each and every years Time of servise of his said son and that he will the said money as it may be earned and that he will provide and furnish the said Randolph Fowler with a sett of tools such as he may be then employed with as the expiration of his said term of servise as aforesaid In testimony whereof the said parties of the first and second part to these presents have hereunto set their hands and seals his Test William x Fowler (seal) Barton S Roby mark Charles E Soper Thomas McCauly (seal) Sate of maryland Howard County to wit: Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that on this fifteenth day of November in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and fifty nine before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for the County aforesaid personally appeared William Fowler & Thomas McCauly and acknowledged the aforegoing Instrument of Indenture to be their respective acts In testimony whereof I hereunto |
