B Owings that the said Richard is without meanes sufficient for his maintenance or support and the Court being satisfied that said representation is true; and believing also that it would greatly conduce to the good of the said boy that he should be put to learn some trade or useful business. The said Richard Quinn is therefore on this sixth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty nine. Bound as an apprentice by the Honorable U B Dorsey H. H. Owings and H O Devries Justices of the Orphans Court for Howard County ; to James MacKubin until he the said Richard Quinn shall arrive at the age of twenty one years and the said James Mackubin being here present in court agrees to take the said Richard Quinn as an apprintace until he shall arrive to the said age: and the said James Mackubin doth also on his part acknowledge himself bound and by these presents doth contract promise and agree to trade the said apprentice the trade or business of a farm and to supply him with suitable clothing and maintenance during his apprenticeship; and when free to give him the costomary freedom dues. And the said James Mackubin doth further contract promise and agree to give him the said apprintice the sum of thirty dollars when free in addition to the freedom dues required by law In witness whereof we hereunto subscribe our names and affix our seals to this Indenture this sixth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty nine Signed sealed and W.
