I hereby certify that on this tenth day of June Eighteen hundred
and fifty nine personally appeared John Elder before me the
Subscriber a Justice of the peace for Howard County aforesaid
and acknowledged the foregoing bill of sale to be his act

Pickett of Howard County state of Maryland
in consideration of one hundred and fifty Dolls
paid me by Edwin U Owings of Howard
                       County state of Maryland do hereby bargain and sell to the said
                       Edwin U Owings The following property one dun horse all
                       of my growing crop of Tobacco all of my growing crop of corn
                       all of my crop of Rye one three horse wagon one Red Bulow
                       Cow six shoats Three sheep as witness my hand and seal
                       this 4th day of July 1859                             his

                       that on this 4th day of July 1859 Personally appeared before
                       the subscriber A Justice of the Peace for the State of
