on hand shall be held by said England as part and parcel of the goods
chattles and effects hereby sold provided however the same shall not exceed
the value of the present stock more than legal interest on the amount
of the consideration herein named.   Witness my hand and seal this twenty
eighth day of May Eighteen hundred and fifty nine

State of Maryland Howard County to Wit:  I hereby Certify that on
this 28th day of May A. D. 1859 before me the subscriber a Justice of the
peace of the state of Maryland in and for Howard County aforesaid personally
appeared Thomas Lucy and acknowledged the aforegoing
bill of sale to be his act and deed and at the same time personally
appeared Abram England and made oath on the Holy Evangely of
Almighty God that the consideration mentioned in the foregoing
bill of sale or instrument of writing is true and bona fide as
therein set forth

    Bill of Sale to
William A Webb
 I Arthur J A Campbell of Howard County
in the state of Maryland being now indebted
to William A Webb of said County and
state in the sum of four hundred and eighty
dollars with interest from the date hereof
                    and in consideration thereof do hereby bargain and sell unto the
                    said William A Webb the following property to wit:  one grey
                    mare, one grey horse, one bay mare, one red and white cow, one brown
                    cow, one pied cow & calf: fourteen sheep, seven hogs and one brood
                    sow: one narrow tread wagon, one seed plough, two shovel ploughs
                    one harrow, three sets plough gears, two sets hind gears, one set head gear;
                    and all my right to and interest in all the crops gowing on the farm
                    occupied by me; provided that if I the said Arthur J A Campbell
                    shall pay to the said William A Webb the said sum
                    of four hundred and eighty dollars with ^the^ interest on or before the
                    thirteenth day of December eighteen hundred and seventy then these
                    presents shall be void.      And the said Arthur J. A. Campbell
                    covenants that if the aforegoing^said^ sum of money and the interest
                    thereon shall not be paid on or before the time above
                    mentioned for the payment thereof that then the said Wm
