grant unto Mathias Amend and that property which is described in a bill of sale from the said Mathias Amend to the said John Amend dated on the January the 26.th 1858 and recorded among the land records of Howard County in Liber W. W. W. No 3 folio 277 &c To Gonn Ament (seal) Test W Allen State of Maryland Howard County to wit I hereby certify that on this 25th day of March 1859 before the subscriber a justice of the Peace in and for Howard County personally appeared John Amend and acknowledged the foregoing to be his act and deed according to the intent contained therein Wm Allen J P Received to be recorded on the 25th day of March 1859 and same day Recorded and examined per W W Watkins clk

I the said James D Cooke do grant bargain and sell unto said Georgiana Williams wife of said Benjamin her Heirs Administrators and assigns my negro servant Jacob Mitchell about twenty nine years of age a slave for life To have and to hold the said named and described to the said Georgiana Williams wife of said Benjamin her heirs administrators and assigns and I the said James D Cooke for myself my heirs administrators and assigns will warrant and forever defend unto said Georgiana Williams wife of said Benjamin against all and every other person or persons |
